Weird symptoms of pregnancy

Pregnancy is a magical time in a woman’s life, until it is not. Yes, you are making a baby, yes, it is a miracle, but at the same time, there are also weird things going on around in the body.

Things that were not there start to make an appearance. Problems that are sort of embarrassing rear their head.

However, most of these issues are innocuous in nature, but it does not hurt to confirm also from the best gynecologist in Lahore if your symptoms are something to be concerned about. Nonetheless, along the journey, do expect some weird symptoms to show up!

Weird symptoms of pregnancy

Acne

Thanks to the hormonal changes, pregnancy glow can also be accompanied by pregnancy acne as well. The never-before-seen zits can be a constant during the entire ride.

Try to ignore the zits, and not pop them. Use face wash regularly, keep your pillows clean and refrain from touching your face often.

Constipation and abdominal discomfort

Due to changes in the hormones, constipation is a common side-effect of pregnancy. Food passes slower for better assimilation. Some vitamin supplements can also make the situation worse.

As a result, not only is there abdominal discomfort, but you constantly feel like the need to use the rest room but cannot. Drinking plenty of fluids and eating fiber can help, however, if the situation persists, talk to your doctor about it.

Constant peeing

Another weird symptom of pregnancy is the constant need to pee. Since the baby puts pressure on the bladder, you then have to make frequent trips to the loo which can be extremely irritating as well.

Discharge

Vaginal discharge both, increases and changes, during pregnancy. This change occurs on account of the hormonal and bodily changes happening due to pregnancy.

Heartburn

Heartburn or acidity is also very common during pregnancy. Again, the pesky pregnancy hormones cause the sphincter connecting the esophagus and the stomach to relax, and thus allows for acid to leak into the esophagus.

You can improve your symptoms by taking small but frequent meals. Cut back on foods that lead to greater heartburn like cheese, spices, fried foods, etc. Do not lay down after eating. Try not to lie down flat but keep your body in incline.

Increased sex drive

Getting hornier than usual is another symptom of pregnancy that might throw you off-guard. Essentially, during this time, there is increased blood flow to the pelvic region, which can increase arousal. You also do not have to worry about getting pregnant, or not getting pregnant and with that load off your shoulder, it is easier for you to enjoy the ride.

Mood swings

You are hot, and then cold. You are happy and then sad. You are yelling, and then fine. These lethal mood swings are also due to pregnancy hormones.

Urinary incontinence

Urinary incontinence is when you are unable to maintain bladder control. A great source of discomfort, incontinence occurs on account of two factors; one, growing baby pushes on the bladder, and second, hormones signal your pelvic muscles to relax.

You can improve the symptoms by doing pelvic floor exercises, that will also help you during labor as well. Moreover, try to wear absorbent underwear to prevent spoiling your clothes.

Itchy breasts and nipples

During pregnancy, you can expect your nipples and boobs to itch. A quick fix is using a safe and good moisturizer or body butter. Ideally, use right after showering, as the skin is more receptive to absorbing the moisturizer. Also, refrain from wearing fabrics that can irritate your skin.

Breasts change in size and appearance

You can expect your breasts to grow in preparation for serving milk to the baby. But alongside the change in the size of the breast are also some visual changes to the nipples, which can be disconcerting.

If, however, there is a rash on the breasts, or discharge from the nipples, you should consult your gynecologist, as those are not normal during pregnancy.
